Day of the Dead
Client: The Lowbrow Gallery, Atlanta
Day of the Dead is one of my favorite holidays. My wife and I got to experience Day of the Dead firsthand when we lived in Mexico. It was a very festive and colorful holiday and I really enjoyed experiencing it.
I’ve started showing my work at a local gallery so I wanted to try to draw a little more “pulp” and “pin-up.” I created this image using Brandon Ragnar and Shane Glines to give me inspiration (maybe a little bit too much inspiration from Ragnar, --sorry about that, Brandon.) This illustration is an example of my low brow work, which I’m trying to develop my own style for (usually my work renders itself to corporate “sex in the city” working gals).
